Firefighter Training Programs – where to from here?

https://www.firerescue.com.au/firefighter-training-programs-where-to-from-here/ It is very easy to criticise organisation who aren’t managing there systems and processes well, but this achieves nothing. The benefits and changes will come but there is always a lag time. Some of the resources that need to be realistically analysed is the increased use of online training and incorporating it with offline training. Really there is no reason, where practical, theory components  can’t be provided online and practical components conducted face to face at a later time. It may sound simple and in reality, it is. Without complicating thing this is where the human resources development factor comes in with an emphasis on time management and documentation. It’s here we can say that data and its analysis is king.

The emergency services and defence force are just an example of how they have used effective structures to serve the Australian people for nearly two centuries. As I’ve spoken about in other posts it’s important to not only have objectives but to have extensive detail providing a pathway to achieving objectives i.e. strategies.

Span of Control From The Fire Ground

https://www.firerescue.com.au/span-of-control-from-the-fire-ground/ There are people in this world who seem to be able to recall information with ease and for that, I am very envious. In other articles, I have spoken about how complex a business can be or become. This now leads me to a discussion on the ‘span of control‘. I could discuss how there [...]

Business Planning and Intelligence

At $10.00 per item it would seem to be almost pointless buying the item, but at $4.95 the margins would be far better. The decision you have to make is how can I finance 1000 items. There are so many other aspects to this but at least we would probably determine that at $10.00 it just won’t work.

Crisis Control and management of emergencies

You will hear on the news, during crises, that a journalist was addressing an episode controller. Who will utilize a type of episode the board framework. They gave a clarification of what was occurring in a given circumstance. This is the individual that has been given the general duty to carry the crisis circumstance to a viable end. It may be a basic vehicle fire, which as you could envision. Would just take a couple of firemen and two or three trucks to bring to an end. Order and Control for the episode controller:  Initially, suppose that the fire was a bushfire . That had been going for certain days and had obliterated various houses and networks. Furthermore, we don't simply send fire engines and expectation that they will put it out. There must be a general controller (occurrence controller) to deal with the possibly huge number of assets both physical and human. It's conceivable to have 100's of trucks and 1000's of HR. For example, trucks should b...
